The Robert E. Howard Home and MuseumBob Howard's Room Looking into Bob Howard's room from the Hallway. The window directly ahead looks out eastward towards the Butler's house (this house has since been destroyed in a tornado, and now a brand new pavilion has been built there to host Howard Days at). The windows to the right used to look out into the backyard, but since the new room was built at the back of the house they now look onto a wall (fake windows and a fake mural have been added, and fake sunlight has been created to give this wall the illusion of the way it used to look when Howard's lived there). Off camera to the left is the window that looks into Mrs. Howard's room. As you can see, the room has been furnished to resemble the way it looked during Howard's day, including an authentic Underwood typewriter (not Howard's original).
Another view of Bob's room, this time looking west, out into the hallway. The "fake" windows are to our left, and off camera to our right is the window that looks into Mrs. Howard's room.
A man in California long ago found and purchased the original typewriter that belonged to Robert E. Howard, and had it authenticated by the FBI, who compared its output to Howard's original manuscripts. These pictures of this original typewriter hang on the hallway wall in the Howard Home, along with a document explaining the find. A closer look at Howard's original typewriter. |
